Diary Entry #2 When God Said, "Trust Me," That's Exactly What He Meant

There are moments in life when God whispers something so clearly that you know it's Him. The challenge isn't hearing His voice... it's having the courage to obey it.

One thing I've learned is that when God says, "Trust Me," that's exactly what He means.

He doesn't ask you to have all the answers.

He doesn't ask you to know how everything is going to work out.

He simply asks you to trust Him.

For the last two years, I've been carrying an idea in my heart—a business opportunity that I knew had the potential to change my life.

The first time the opportunity came around, it practically fell into my lap. I stepped out in faith, but things didn't work out the way I had hoped.

I was disappointed.

I felt defeated.

And if I'm being honest, I gave up.

I convinced myself that maybe it just wasn't meant for me.

But here's the thing about God...

What's meant for you will never pass you by.

Almost a year later, that exact same opportunity came back into my life—but this time, it was even better.

Better terms.

Better conditions.

Better timing.

I still felt scared.

But I wasn't worried.

There's a difference.

Being scared is human.

Worrying is choosing fear over faith.

Whenever I started overthinking, I kept reminding myself of Matthew 6:34:

" Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself."

I didn't know what to expect.

Honestly...

I still don't.

But I know Who does.

Then something happened that I'll never forget.

One day, I received a voice memo from one of my closest friends.

What's so incredible is that I had never shared my plans with her. She had no idea what I had been praying about or wrestling with.

She said:

"Lex, I don't know what this means, but it just came into my spirit while I was walking today. God told me to tell you that Lex knows exactly what she's supposed to do. Lex knows what God has called her to do... she's just scared. Don't be scared. Just do it."

I sat there in complete silence.

Tears filled my eyes.

That wasn't coincidence.

That was confirmation.

I immediately called my friend and told her she was absolutely right.

I was scared.

But God had already spoken.

The very next day, while driving to meet with one of my clients, I sent the voice memo to my mom and my aunt.

After listening, my aunt called me and asked,

"Do you know what she's talking about?"

I smiled and said,

"Yes."

Without hesitation, my aunt began to pray.

And I began to cry.

Now, let me be honest...

I had somewhere to be.

I remember laughing through my tears and saying,

"Auntie, I have to go because you got me crying and I have to get to my client's office. I don't want to mess up my makeup!"

But right there, in that car...

We prayed.

I cried.

And in that moment, I knew.

God wasn't asking me to understand everything.

He was asking me to move.

So...

I did another thang.

Fast forward to July 9, 2026.

Just a few days ago.

I walked into my new business venture.

And this time...

I didn't walk away.

I walked away with the keys.

Holding those keys wasn't just about opening a new door.

It was proof that obedience unlocks blessings.

Looking back now, I realize something.

If God had given me this opportunity two years ago, I probably wasn't ready.

I thought I was.

But He knew better.

Sometimes what feels like a delay is actually preparation.

Sometimes God says "not yet" because He's still preparing you for what you've been praying for.

His timing is always perfect.

So, if you're reading this and you're waiting on something...

Keep praying.

Keep preparing.

Keep believing.

And when God tells you to move...

Move.

Even if you're scared.

Faith isn't the absence of fear.

Faith is moving forward despite it.

Today, I'm incredibly grateful.

Grateful for God's guidance.

Grateful for His patience.

Grateful for every closed door that protected me.

And grateful for every open door that reminded me His plans are always greater than mine.

This is only the beginning.

I'm excited to take you along on this journey as I build something bigger than I ever imagined.

He'll provide everything you need to fulfill it.

Just trust Him.

Always.
